Job summary

Michael Page is supporting a Professional Services organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow to appoint a Risk & Compliance Director. You will lead risk and compliance activity, setting direction across the Secretarial & Business Support function to underpin sound business decisions.

The role involves developing and delivering risk and compliance plans, reviewing activities for stronger controls, and providing guidance to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong experience leading risk and compliance activity.
• Ability to assess business risks and put practical controls in place.
• Experience developing clear risk and compliance plans.
• Confidence providing clear advice to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to present complex risk information clearly.
• Strong judgement when reviewing controls and prioritising actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of risk and compliance plans across the business.
• Set clear risk and compliance priorities that support practical decision-making.
• Review key business activities to identify areas requiring stronger controls.
• Provide clear guidance on risk and compliance matters to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain oversight of risk activity and ensure actions are followed through.
• Prepare clear reports on key risk and compliance themes for senior colleagues.
• Work with the Secretarial & Business Support department to embed consistent ways of working.
• Keep risk and compliance documentation accurate, current and easy to use.
