Job summary

Historic England is the public organisation that brings new life to heritage to build a better future for every place and everyone. We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as Research Partnerships Manager, in a national role with hybrid working from offices nationwide including Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth and Cambridge.

You will lead development of partnerships with HEIs, IROs and research funders, oversee the AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral

Qualifications

• A high quality qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience.
• A good understanding of the Higher Education sector and the research funding landscape.
• Demonstrable commitment to student development.
• Experience in developing successful partnerships between organisations in a research context.
• Experience in programme and/or project management and budget development.
• Good negotiating and influencing skills.
• Aptitude for strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate development of successful partnerships with HEIs, IROs and funding bodies and support submission of high quality proposals.
• Engage with research staff to align research priorities with funding opportunities.
• Oversee the AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) programme and monitor external partnerships.
• Lead pre-award activities and support other areas of the research funding process as required.
