Job summary

The University of Liverpool is seeking a Research Contracts Officer to join its Research Contracts Team. You will manage a substantial portfolio of research-related agreements, negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts with funders, collaborators and commercial partners.

The role requires strong contract law knowledge, excellent judgement and stakeholder management across a broad set of university committees.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of contract law and legal issues facing a university.
• Experience negotiating complex research agreements.
• Appreciation of legal and regulatory issues affecting the higher education sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage a substantial portfolio of research-related agreements.
• Negotiate, draft and review contracts with funders, collaborators and commercial partners.
• Contribute expertise to University committees and governance processes.
• Ensure contracts are negotiated and concluded efficiently to progress research activity.
• Protect the University’s interests through sound commercial judgement and risk management.
