Job summary

ARIA is seeking a Programme Director to lead ambitious R&D programmes across ARIA’s opportunity spaces in the UK. You will launch and actively manage portfolios with dedicated support, build communities, and direct funding to maximise societal impact.

You will join the third cohort of PDs for training and mentorship from senior leaders, with flexibility on commitment for exceptional candidates. This is a high-impact, hybrid London-based role.

Qualifications

• Significant depth of knowledge in at least one scientific research, engineering or technology field.
• Experience carrying out research in that field.
• Ability to work across diverse communities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and launch ambitious R&D programmes with clear theories of change and funding plans.
• Run discovery across academia, industry, government and start-ups to identify opportunities and gaps.
• Select and fund a portfolio of projects to deliver transformative breakthroughs.
• Actively manage programmes and portfolios, tracking progress and adapting strategy as needed.
