Job summary

Equals One Ltd in Malton, York, YO17, seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing and stores, ensuring reliable supply of electronic and mechanical components while meeting cost targets.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will develop supplier strategies, manage international procurement, and lead a small team to deliver improvements in quality, delivery and costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' purchasing or procurement management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing domestic and international supply chains.
• Proven experience leading and developing a purchasing or stores team.
• Strong supplier negotiation, relationship management and cost-control skills.
• Experience improving supplier performance and managing supply chain risks.
• Working knowledge of SAP, strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time receipt of materials with accurate stock levels.
• Monitor supplier lead times, shortages and delivery performance.
• Oversee goods inward and stores operations, ensuring stock control.
• Negotiate supplier contracts to secure pricing, lead times and terms.
• Manage import, customs and international purchasing requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D, Sales and MD on demand forecasting and purchasing plans.
