Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organisation in Chester-le-Street to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary circa £50k per annum dependent on experience, with on-site work primarily and some WFH after probation.

You will lead end-to-end procurement for raw materials and finished goods, manage a small purchasing team, foster supplier relationships, and act as ERP lead for Microsoft Dynamics within purchasing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within manufacturing/engineering.
• Experience managing a small team is advantageous.
• Hands-on ERP purchasing experience required.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers including international suppliers.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Good commercial and analytical acumen with pricing, costings and forecasts.
• Clear communicator able to work cross-functionally with technical, commercial and operational teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage ordering of raw materials and finished goods to meet production and stock needs.
• Plan and place purchase orders aligned with forecast demand and lead times.
• Monitor order status, delivery performance and resolve supply issues.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts to secure best value.
• Identify, onboard and review supplier performance and risk.
• Lead or support supplier escalations related to quality or delivery.
• Act as ERP lead for Microsoft Dynamics within the purchasing function.
