Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Project Management Officer to drive planning, governance and delivery for complex council projects. You will coordinate project leads, develop detailed plans and monitor progress.

You will engage stakeholders, lead meetings, manage risks, and report to senior leadership. A degree and PM certification are desirable, with a track record in multi-project environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
• Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AGILE) is highly desirable.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Execution with detailed plans aligned to government goals.
• Develop and implement project management strategies and plans.
• Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to construct detailed project plans.
• Engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders for buy-in and alignment.
• Provide guidance and training to project teams on best practices.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to secure objectivity in projects.
• Develop and implement progress tracking and reporting mechanisms.
• Regularly review progress, identify risks, and report to senior leadership.
• Lead lessons learned sessions and apply insights to future initiatives.
• Stay updated on project management trends and innovations.
