Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting a Project Commercial Manager to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance. You will oversee commercial and cost management from inception to close, reporting to an Integrated Projects Leader and ensuring governance compliance across the programme.

The role requires degree-level education with RICS/CIOB/CICES certification, plus proven experience in multi-million pound projects, NEC contracts, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Degree level required; professional certification preferred (RICS/CIOB/CICES).
• Experience managing complex projects up to multi-million pounds.
• Experience with NEC contracts and cost estimation.
• Strong stakeholder management and commercial focus.
• Ability to lead and develop a small team.

Responsibilities

• Provide robust estimates aligned to project scope.
• Develop and govern commercial/procurement strategies with senior buyers.
• Ensure subcontracts reflect scope and are contractually managed.
• Provide accurate live forecasting aligned to the project programme.
• Monitor actual costs vs. baseline; challenge variances.
• Report cost variances and resolutions to IPL.
• Administer the Alliance contract.
• Issue early warnings and advise on compliance.
• Maintain records for audits and cost assurance.
• Prepare timely final accounts and mitigation plans.
• Identify and realise commercial efficiencies.
• Monitor progress of efficiencies and report variances.
• Report withheld/disputed costs to IPL.
• Lead and mentor a small team.
• Develop team members.
