Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom (Scotland) is seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead complex programmes and portfolios, ensuring alignment with client objectives and outcomes. You will provide programme-level leadership across multiple projects and maintain governance, assurance and reporting frameworks.

You'll manage risks, dependencies and performance, build relationships with senior stakeholders, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive opportunities for growth across client

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience delivering complex programmes or portfolios in a client-facing environment.
• Strong understanding of programme management principles, including governance, PMO and controls.
• Proven ability to lead and manage delivery through multidisciplinary and matrixed teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior clients and partners.
• Strong regional industry network and market presence, building relationships across clients and partners.
• Commercial awareness, including budgeting and identifying opportunities.
• Confident in representing the business externally at meetings and events.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of complex programmes or portfolios, ensuring alignment to client objectives and intended outcomes.
• Provide programme-level leadership across multiple projects, driving integrated and consistent delivery.
• Establish and maintain governance, assurance and reporting frameworks.
• Manage programme risks, issues, dependencies and performance to enable informed decision-making.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact and advisor.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and delivery partners to achieve programme objectives.
• Ensure delivery to agreed scope, schedule, cost and quality parameters.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of programme management approaches, tools and standards.
• Develop and maintain a strong market presence within the region, building relationships across clients, partners and industry networks.
• Identify and convert opportunities for growth within existing and new client accounts, supporting business development and account strategies.
• Lead and contribute to bids, proposals and work-winning activities, helping secure future programmes and long-term client partnerships.
