Job summary

SHD Composite Materials Ltd is seeking a Production Planner to support the Production Manager in preparing, maintaining and communicating an effective production plan. You will organise materials, paperwork, stock allocation and priorities to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing and on-time delivery.

You will work across Production, Sales, Stores and Despatch, monitoring material availability and ensuring compliance with COSHH and AS9100 requirements.

Qualifications

• - Good English and maths; clear numeracy.
• - Proficient computer skills with production/stock systems.
• - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in schedules and paperwork.
• - Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities in a changing production environment.
• - Clear, effective written and verbal communication.
• - Team player with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
• - Experience in manufacturing, production planning, stock control or administration is desirable.
• - Familiarity with EFACS, ERP or MRP systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• - Adhere to Health and Safety procedures, including COSHH.
• - Prepare, maintain and communicate weekly production schedules to support demand and capacity.
• - Monitor material availability and stock levels in stores.
• - Communicate priorities across Production, Sales, Stores and Despatch.
• - Use EFACS to input, scan, collate and report planning information.
• - Organise production paperwork for the upcoming week.
• - Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are met before work starts.
• - Monitor stock levels of prepregs and raw materials.
• - Allocate fabric/resin per customer and product specs.
• - Attend daily operations meetings and provide planning updates.
• - Track progress and communicate changes, constraints or delays.
• - Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• - Maintain cleanliness and shop floor organisation.
• - Foster teamwork and shared ownership across the Production Team.
