Job summary

LGPS Central is seeking a proactive professional to join the Procurement and Vendor Oversight function. You will procure a varied portfolio of goods and services, manage contracts, and oversee third-party providers while working across Investments, Finance, Legal, and other services.

You will develop strategy, implement tendering and contract processes, and support governance and compliance. This hybrid role offers diverse stakeholder exposure and opportunities to grow procurement expertise

Qualifications

• Familiarity with public sector procurement processes, regulations (PCR 2015 and Procurement Act 2023), and best practice in tendering and supplier selection.
• Experience supporting contract management, supplier due diligence and oversight activities.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, track deliverables, and monitor supplier performance.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support collaboration across teams and with external providers.
• Analytical mindset with data collation and reporting skills.
• Teamwork and communication, able to communicate to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Procurement: strategy development and execution of procurement activities, drafting ITTs, evaluation templates and contract registers.
• Liaise with internal teams to gather requirements and ensure procurement activities are delivered on time and compliant.
• Embed procurement best practice through advice, guidance and training.
• Deputise for the Procurement and Vendor Oversight Manager as required.
• Vendor Oversight & Contract Management: monitor suppliers, maintain governance, risk and compliance systems for third party oversight.
• Lead use of tender and contract management system, train users and ensure SLAs/KPIs are monitored.
• Support periodic vendor reviews and reporting to governance forums.
• Support contract leads in supplier reviews and oversight activities.
• Compliance & Governance: align activities with FCA, LGPS pooling requirements and internal policies; contribute to audits and regulatory reporting.
• Relationship Management: build relationships with Operations, Finance, Investments and Legal; communicate with suppliers to resolve issues.
