Job summary

Matchtech are recruiting an Operational Procurement Manager to support and enhance procurement operations across a complex, multi-site environment in Hertfordshire. You will lead a centralised Buying Desk and drive procurement best practice, supplier performance and cost avoidance initiatives.

Ideal candidates have strong supplier management, stakeholder engagement and advanced Excel skills, plus ERP/P2P experience. This contract role offers £600/day Inside IR35 with ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Operational procurement experience in complex or multi-site environments.
• Strong supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Track record in procurement compliance, cost avoidance, and process improvements.
• Advanced Excel and procurement reporting capabilities.
• Experience with ERP/P2P procurement systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Buying Desk team.
• Drive procurement process standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Manage supplier performance and compliance with preferred supplier frameworks.
• Deliver cost avoidance and supply chain optimisation initiatives.
• Analyse procurement data to support commercial decision-making.
• Reduce invoice queries and improve purchasing compliance.
• Support supplier on-boarding and procurement governance activities.
• Provide procurement support for bids, estimating and mobilisation projects.
