Job summary

Matchtech Group in Central London (largely on-site with flexible ad hoc working) is seeking a Buyer for a fast-growing advanced manufacturing organisation. You will take ownership of purchasing materials and components, build strong supplier partnerships, raise and expedite purchase orders, and contribute to cost, quality and scalability as the business scales.

• Experience in Buyer/Purchasing or Supply Chain role.
• Background in manufacturing/engineering/industrial environments.
• Supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving business.
• Commercial awareness and analytical thinking.
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills.
• ERP/MRP systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of materials and engineering-related products.
• Raise and expedite purchase orders to support production.
• Develop and strengthen supplier relationships UK and internationally.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times and inventory levels.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and commercial terms.
• Support supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production Planning to ensure material availability.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support sourcing projects.
• Assist with supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
• Contribute to longer-term procurement strategies and framework agreements.
• Maintain purchasing data in ERP/MRP systems.
