Job summary

Draken is seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to shape procurement strategies across programmes and bids. You will lead supplier negotiations, drive cost-effective supply solutions, and collaborate with Programme, Technology, Engineering and Commercial teams from bid stages through contract award.

• Proven experience developing procurement strategies in complex environments.
• Strong commercial acumen balancing cost, quality, risk and delivery.
• Experience leading complex negotiations and contract management.
• Knowledge of procurement governance, compliance and best practice.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned to business objectives and programme requirements.
• Analyse market conditions, supplier landscapes, and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Lead procurement activities for major bids and programmes, ensuring timely and competitive submissions.
• Provide procurement input throughout the programme lifecycle, including bid/no-bid decisions and engineering reviews.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure robust performance through KPIs.
