Job summary

Alterna Search is seeking a Management Accountant to join a lean private equity finance team in London. The role covers multiple entities and the investment portfolio, driving both management accounts and year-end processes.

You will work closely with the investment team, bring a proactive, hands-on approach, and support the realisation of strategy across the portfolio. This is a strong entry into private equity for a mid-tier practice accountant seeking growth.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified with 0-3 years PQE.
• Experience in accounts preparation, management accounts and/or bookkeeping.
• Familiar with working across a portfolio of clients/entities.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• VAT, UK compliance and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting year-end accounts and liaising with external advisers.
• Cash flow management and payments.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and projects.
• Improving and developing finance processes as the business grows.
