Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Policy Team Manager to lead a team delivering evidence-based strategic policy advice for DVLA, DfT and the wider motoring landscape. You will guide policy development, ensure legal compliance and align with departmental priorities, using research, data and stakeholder insight.

You'll champion digital service improvements, manage resources, and respond to ministers and stakeholders with timely, politically aware submissions.

Qualifications

• Evidence-based policy experience or strong familiarity with government policy processes.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver strategic policy advice.
• Experience in stakeholder consultation and presenting policy positions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team providing strategic policy advice to DVLA, DfT, ministers and stakeholders.
• Draft and oversee ministerial submissions, briefings and policy correspondence.
• Develop and influence evidence-based policy through data review, stakeholder engagement and analysis.
• Champion digital services and efficiency across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with legal frameworks and corporate objectives.
