Job summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is recruiting a PMO Manager to lead a large, complex programme. You will establish proportionate standards, controls and reporting to ensure delivery is well governed and focused on outcomes.

Working with senior leaders and stakeholders, you will provide PMO advice, assurance and challenge throughout the programme lifecycle, from business case development to benefits realisation, enabling timely decisions and effective use of funding.

Responsibilities

• Programme and team leadership: lead the PMO function and develop its team with clear standards.
• Programme controls: establish proportionate controls for plans, milestones and reporting.
• Governance and assurance: maintain governance and coordinate assurance, including reviews.
• Planning and reporting: oversee integrated plans and dashboards for progress and decisions.
• Risk, issue and dependency management: set standards for identifying and escalating risks and dependencies.
• Business cases and benefits: support business cases and track benefits and outcomes.
• Financial and resource management: coordinate budgets, forecasts and resource information.
• Stakeholder engagement: build relationships with stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Continuous improvement: improve PMO processes and reporting.
• Delivery support: provide practical support to turn strategy into delivery.
