Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking a Planning Manager to act as the expert for redevelopment and development of sites across the UK, with exposure to commercial and rural projects and a role supporting hybrid working.

The role involves advising on development proposals, managing projects end-to-end, engaging with LPAs, preparing appraisals and planning applications, coordinating external consultants, and monitoring local plans. Salary £64,000–£66,950 plus car allowance or company car.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in Town Planning and MRPTI membership required.
• Strong knowledge of Town and Country Planning system.
• Understanding Biodiversity Net Gain implications.
• Experience on commercial or rural construction/development projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal advice on development, redevelopment, change of use and alternative use.
• Take ownership of day-to-day management of projects.
• Prepare pre-application briefs to LPAs and attend meetings with related officers.
• Prepare and submit appraisals, statements and applications for projects, changes of use and Certificates of Lawfulness.
• Select and manage relationships with external advisors and consultants.
• Prepare objections to proposals on neighbouring properties.
• Monitor local plans to assess site impact.
• Attend site and review meetings as needed.
