Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a Planning Coordinator for a 12 month fixed-term contract in Castle Donington. You will support production planning, coordinate with the Machine Shop Manager and the Design Department, and help manage BOM-based material orders against budget and schedule.

The role requires strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, FileMaker) and experience in production planning within manufacturing. Commute from surrounding areas is welcome.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production planning within a production, engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good IT skills to encompass Microsoft Office, Outlook and FileMaker.
• Commutable from Castle Donington, Loughborough, Long Eaton, Coalville, Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Machine Shop Manager with regards to Production Planning.
• Offer creative and practical solutions to technical and logistical problems.
• Purchase machine components and materials in conjunction with the BOM ensuring cost efficiency and all relevant documentation is completed accurately.
• Build new stock forecasts and update customer forecasts.
• Monitor supplier lead-times and performance.
• Produce performance related reports based on actual vs planned production performance.
• Take ownership of planning requirements in the absence of the Planning & Purchasing Manager.
• Liaise with customers regarding forecasts, deliveries, order enquiries and any other issues.
• To progress customer orders and highlight any requirements to relevant departments.
