The role drives cost-effective medicine supply, develops strategies, and engages with NHS bodies and suppliers to achieve savings and governance standards.

The successful candidate will have hospital procurement experience, GPhC registration, and strong leadership, with a focus on sustainability and value optimisation within the NHS

Qualifications

• Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience in hospital procurement and medicines governance is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams and projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and invoicing teams to ensure safe, cost-effective supply of medicines.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise value and minimise waste.
• Lead medicines efficiency projects aligned with cost-improvement targets.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, NHS bodies, and regional consortia.
• Ensure governance, legal, and regulatory compliance including GDP.
• Inspire and develop the procurement team.
