Job summary

C&M Travel Recruitment is seeking an Operations Director for a UK travel group. The role sits on the Group Board and oversees coach operations, fleet strategy and partner networks, with a focus on technology modernisation and governance.

You will lead a senior team and drive strategic transformation across the operation. The role requires senior leadership, strong budget management and experience with supplier contracting.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within coach, passenger transport, touring, logistics or related operational sector.
• Strong commercial experience including supplier management, contracting and negotiation.
• Experience managing significant operational costs and budgets.
• Proven track record of operational transformation and technology-enabled change.

Responsibilities

• Operate at a strategic and Board level, setting direction for the operation.
• Own strategy for the operator partner network, contracting and capacity planning.
• Shape fleet strategy with partners, including renewal and propulsion.
• Maintain robust governance, safety and compliance frameworks across networks.
• Take commercial accountability for multi‑million supplier costs and budgets.
• Lead technology and systems modernisation of planning, scheduling and MIS.
• Develop the management team to run the operation without day-to-day involvement.
