Job summary

Ciwmjobs is seeking an experienced Principal Energy & Building Simulation Consultant to join our Southwest and South Wales team. The primary base is Cardiff, with Bristol considered for the right candidate.

You will lead dynamic thermal modelling using IES VE, oversee compliance testing for Part L and Part O, and drive net-zero strategies across commercial, residential, and public sector projects. We value strong project leadership, client liaison, and mentoring of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with IES VE for dynamic thermal simulation.
• Strong knowledge of Part L and Part O requirements (Conservation of fuel/power, Overheating).
• Track record in consultancy with project leadership and client-facing delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced dynamic thermal modelling to assess energy performance and comfort.
• Oversee Building Regulations compliance testing for Part L and Part O.
• Deliver TM59 and TM54 assessments and manage client relationships.
