Job summary

Purosearch is seeking a Principal Energy & Building Simulation Consultant to lead dynamic thermal modelling projects in Cardiff (with Bristol option). The role combines technical authority with client liaison, delivering rigorous energy studies and net-zero strategies within commercial, residential and public sector schemes.

The successful candidate will own IES VE modelling, advise on Part L and Part O compliance, and mentor junior staff while driving high quality outcomes for a growing

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience using IES VE for dynamic thermal simulation.
• In-depth knowledge of Part L and Part O regulatory standards and methodologies.
• Proven consultancy experience with strong project leadership capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and client-facing.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced dynamic thermal simulations using IES VE to evaluate energy performance and thermal comfort.
• Oversee Building Regulations compliance testing for Part L and Part O.
• Deliver TM59/TM54 assessments and related design-stage analyses.
• Manage client relationships and present energy strategies to design teams and developers.
• Mentor junior consultants and review IES models to ensure quality.
