Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Consultant to grow our Data, Modelling and Analytics Team in Manchester. You will lead strategic modelling projects, set technical direction, and mentor junior staff while delivering high‑quality results for clients.

This role requires experience with transport modelling, proficiency in tools such as Cube, VISUM or EMME, and programming in Python. You will manage client relationships, define information requirements, and ensure delivery to time, cost,

Qualifications

Deals with large, complex datasets and models.
Experience in transport or mathematical modelling, preferably strategic.
Proficient with at least one major modelling tool (Cube, VISUM, EMME).
Strong Python knowledge and coding best practices.
Ability to interact with clients and gather information requirements.
Team player capable of contributing across sectors.

Responsibilities

Act as a technical lead on small/medium projects.
Execute tasks to quality, time and budget.
Specify information requirements to clients.
Identify information needed to deliver tasks.
Review junior staff analyses for accuracy.
Manage stakeholders and cross-functional relationships.
Show judgement in analysing information and presenting conclusions.
Deliver defined sections of SYSTRA reports on time and within contract constraints.
