Job summary
SYSTRA UK & Ireland in Edinburgh is seeking a Principal Consultant to grow our Data, Modelling and Analytics Team. You will support the management and delivery of Strategic Modelling projects in the UK & Ireland, becoming a technical expert in modelling scenarios and the extraction, processing and presentation of results to clients and stakeholders.
Join a team delivering transport infrastructure insights, using tools like Cube, VISUM or EMME, with Python coding and strong client collaboration
Qualifications
- Experience working with complex datasets.
- Experience in strategic modelling (demand/public transport).
- Proficient in at least one modelling tool (Cube/VISUM/EMME).
- Proficiency in Python and other coding languages, with best‑practice development.
- Ability to work with clients to understand project objectives.
- Strong teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ability to guide junior staff and ensure quality in analyses.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical lead on small/medium projects.
- Execute tasks to quality, time and budget.
- Specify information requirements directly to the client.
- Identify information needed to deliver tasks.
- Review accuracy of junior staff's analysis.
- Manage stakeholder, client and cross‑functional relationships.
- Demonstrate thoroughness in analysing information and presenting conclusions.
- Contribute to reports and defined sections of SYSTRA outputs.
