Job summary

FBR Construction Recruitment is supporting a Hampshire based building envelope contractor to recruit a full-time Materials and Plant Buyer. The role will lead and manage all procurement activities, ensuring competitive sourcing while maintaining quality, compliance and programme delivery.

You will build long-term supplier relationships, negotiate best-value agreements and ensure materials are available when project works require them.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years in procurement within the construction sector.
• Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
• Experience with building envelope materials is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement strategy across the business.
• Source specialist façade systems, glazing, aluminium, cladding and remediation products.
• Negotiate pricing, rebates and contract terms to deliver best value.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality and delivery; review market trends.
• Coordinate project procurement with sites and delivery schedules.
• Develop framework agreements and preferred supplier relationships.
• Support ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures.
