Job summary

The Woodland Trust is seeking a Management Accountant to support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting across the charity. You will produce monthly management accounts with clear commentary, and work with senior leaders to ensure budgets and forecasts are accurate and approved.

You will uphold strong internal controls, assist with risk assessments and develop scenario models to inform strategic decisions, with hybrid working from Grantham head office.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing, reviewing and analysing monthly management accounts.
• Ability to partner with budget holders and senior leaders for budgets and forecasts.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls and charity regulations.
• Proficient in risk analysis, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Experience with Unit4 (Business World) is advantageous.
• Professional qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAS or CIPFA are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts with commentary.
• Collaborate with budget holders to deliver budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and charity regulations.
• Review and enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
• Provide risk assessments and scenario models for planning.
• Advise budget holders and senior leaders on financial decisions.
• Hybrid role; attend head office in Grantham up to monthly.
