Job summary

The Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity, is seeking a finance professional to produce monthly management accounts with clear commentary. The role partners with budget holders and senior leaders to deliver accurate budgets and forecasts while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

You will review and enhance financial systems, provide risk assessments and scenario models for strategic planning, and advise on financially sound decisions.

Qualifications

• Monthly management accounts experience
• Partner with budget holders and senior leaders on budgets/forecasts
• Strong understanding of charity regulations and best-practice guidelines
• Risk analysis, reconciliations, variance analysis and clear recommendations
• Experience with financial systems; Unit4 is advantageous
• ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CIPFA qualifications advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts with clear commentary to support decision-making
• Work with senior leaders and budget holders to deliver approved budgets and forecasts
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial regulations and Charity Commission rules
• Review and enhance financial systems and reporting tools to improve efficiency
• Provide financial risk assessments and scenario models for planning and change control
• Advise budget holders and senior leaders on financial decisions
• Hybrid role with home working and head office attendance no more than monthly at Grantham
