Job summary

Swift Temps Ltd in Tipton is seeking a driven Logistics Manager to lead strategy and operations for a Tier One automotive supplier. You will plan, coordinate and optimise logistics activities, negotiate with carriers, and manage a high-performing team to improve service levels, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills and a solid understanding of ERP systems and logistics compliance within automotive manufacturing.

• Experience with ERP systems and data analysis
• Experience in automotive or manufacturing logistics preferred
• Knowledge of lean techniques advantageous

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation and implementation of logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures
• Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations with internal stakeholders, suppliers, providers and customers
• Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
• Monitor delivery times and transport costs; optimise routes and modes
• Ensure carrier compliance with company policies
• Resolve transportation, logistics, imports/exports or customer issues
• Assess impact of logistics changes and report results
• Identify cost optimisation opportunities and waste reduction
• Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee stock movements with direct reports
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and develop a high-performing team
