Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Strategic Leakage Engineer to turn raw network data into optimisation solutions. You’ll work with hydraulic specialists to pinpoint inefficiencies, plan DMA meter replacements, and lead capital schemes from paper to shovel.

The role requires a technically sharp, data-fluent engineer who can dive into Maximo and as-laid plans, extract insights, and deliver resilient infrastructure through project delivery.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification and/or relevant degree or equivalent water network experience.
• Ability to manipulate datasets and translate data into insights for network optimisation.
• Strong IT skills with hydraulic modelling software and data management systems.
• Excellent communication with consultants and SEW departments.
• Understanding of regulatory leakage reporting and reduction techniques.
• Knowledge of asset management and operations in water networks.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between SEW departments and project teams.
• Forecasting budgets for optimisation strategies and managing projects.
• Plan DMA meter replacements and capital schemes from paper to shovel.
• Analyze data and logging to support scheme evaluation and decision making.
• Communicate network changes to operational teams and consultants.
• Coordinate with consultants and manage information flow across projects.
