Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University seeks an exceptional leader to join Student Services as Associate Director of Student Safeguarding and Complex Risk. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for safeguarding, complex risk management and critical incident response across the University.

Working with the Director of Student Services and senior colleagues, you will oversee high‑risk cases, chair risk panels, coordinate multi‑agency responses and drive continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in safeguarding and risk management.
• Experience with high-risk student cases and critical incident response.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and external agencies.
• Knowledge of higher education safeguarding, welfare, mental health and institutional risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding framework and ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements.
• Oversee complex risk and chair risk panels.
• Lead during student-related emergencies and coordinate multi-service responses.
• Build relationships across the University and external agencies to promote student safety.
