Job summary

NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service in Edinburgh is recruiting for a Professional Manager Pharmacy Technical Services: Operations & Pharmacologistics. This senior role shapes the strategic development and delivery of technical operations, pharmacologistics and medicines management across NHS Lothian’s acute, mental health and primary care hospital sites.

Qualifications

• Significant post-registration hospital pharmacy experience and demonstrable management experience within a complex healthcare environment.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites and regions.
• Strong understanding of medicines procurement, stock control and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and professional leadership for pharmacy technical operations, pharmacologistics and medicines management services across NHS Lothian.
• Lead safe, efficient delivery of procurement, supply, dispensing and distribution of medicines across sites.
• Develop and implement robust quality systems supporting regulatory compliance and service continuity.
• Provide professional advice and leadership to pharmacy technicians in acute, mental health and primary care services.
• Lead workforce planning, succession planning and development of advanced practice roles for pharmacy technicians.
• Ensure staff governance including recruitment, induction, CPD, performance management and monitoring.
