Bio-Techne in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Manager of Development & Production Chemistry to lead the design, development, scale-up and manufacture of small‑molecule tools for life-science research. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of NPD pipelines, production schedules and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with >5 years of leadership experience, strong H&S knowledge (COSHH, DSEAR), and a proven

Qualifications

• PhD in synthetic organic chemistry is required.
• 5+ years’ experience leading and developing teams with matrix management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of COSHH and DSEAR with a passion for H&S standards.
• Experience with scale-up chemistry and process safety management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the teams responsible for the design, development, scale-up, and manufacture of small-molecule chemical tools.
• Provide line management for Lab EHS Manager and collaborate with facilities and planning teams.
• Oversee budget, CapEx planning and resource allocation to maximize execution and innovation.
• Ensure QMS compliance and represent the function during audits and external assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Operations and Quality functions.
• Align portfolio expansion and infrastructure improvements with strategic goals.
