Job summary

Wessex Archaeology is seeking a Head of Terrestrial Geophysics in Salisbury or Sheffield with flexible working. You will lead the Terrestrial Geophysics team, ensuring safe, high‑quality, commercially viable delivery across a growing portfolio.

The role demands senior leadership, line management, and a track record in strategic development, financial oversight and client-focused outcomes within geophysics and related disciplines.

Qualifications

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, pricing and financial oversight of projects.
• Ability to balance quality, risk and profitability in project delivery.
• Experience contributing to tenders and understanding client needs.
• Knowledge of terrestrial geophysics and planning/regulatory environment in the UK and/or internationally.
• Strong leadership, team-building and people development skills.
• Clear, confident communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Track record of driving change and improving processes.
• Project management experience with quality and timelines.
• Commitment to health, safety and wellbeing in leadership roles.
• Experience coordinating input from diverse disciplines internationally.
