Job summary

East Kent Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Associate Director of Medical Education to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Trust-wide medical education function, delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate education across sites.

The role will shape the medical education strategy, ensure learner excellence, and manage education centres with accountability for budgets and performance in line with NHSE funding and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Masters or equivalent experience.
• Project management experience with leading improvement projects in health and/or social care.
• Evidence of CPD.
• Evidence of other specialist management training to postgraduate level.
• PG Cert in Education or relevant teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Overarching managerial responsibility for postgraduate and undergraduate medical education across East Kent Hospitals.
• Lead the Medical Education Strategy and align with organisational objectives and external regulatory requirements.
• Accountability for management of the Education Centres.
• Quality assurance and review of medical education for postgrad and undergrad.
• Delivery of NHSE Education Funding Agreement.
• Ensure compliance with GMC, CQC, NHSE WTE, Medical Schools and Royal Colleges.
