Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major highways, transport, public realm and active travel programmes for a London local authority. You will drive projects from inception through delivery, managing multidisciplinary teams and substantial capital budgets.

You will engage with Members, TfL and external partners, develop business cases, governance and risk management, and mentor junior project managers while ensuring compliance with statutory and procurement

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering major capital infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing highways, transport, public realm or regeneration projects.
• Experience managing substantial capital budgets and externally funded programmes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and political negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead major highways, transport, public realm and active travel projects from feasibility through to completion.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, including business cases, option development, design, consultation, approvals, procurement and implementation.
• Manage multiple projects and workstreams, ensuring delivery against budgets, timescales and objectives.
• Develop and maintain project plans, programmes, risk registers and governance documentation.
• Manage significant capital budgets, expenditure, forecasts and funding allocations.
• Identify and manage project, financial, commercial and delivery risks.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and consultation with Members, TfL, government bodies and communities.
• Provide senior project management support, guidance and mentoring to other Project Managers.
