Job summary

Carrington West in London is seeking a Senior Highway Project Manager to lead complex, high-value highways and transport schemes from business case through delivery.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, engage with stakeholders including TfL and local authorities, and ensure governance, funding and programme milestones are met. The role requires presence in London 1–2 days per week under a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Experience leading highway projects or similar transport schemes.
• Ability to manage projects through full lifecycle, from business case to delivery.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with public and private sector bodies.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage projects through the full lifecycle, including business case, feasibility, design, engagement, governance, procurement and implementation.
• Provide programme leadership and strategic stakeholder management to deliver transport, regeneration and climate priorities.
• Act as senior client representative, building partnerships with Members, TfL, government bodies, consultants and contractors.
• Deliver senior-level project leadership and resilience across the capital projects portfolio.

Senior Highway Project Manager

London

£350 - £400 per day, inside IR35

3 month initial contract

Are you a Highway Project Manager that is currently looking for a new challenge?

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager with experience in complex, high-value highways, transport, public realm and active travel projects to join a busy client in London.

This is a full-time contract offered on an on-going basis, initially for 3 months. This role will be hybrid with presence in London required 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage projects through the full project lifecycle, including business case development, feasibility, design development, engagement, governance approvals, procurement and implementation.
• Programme leadership, strategic stakeholder management, funding management and political engagement, ensuring the successful delivery of schemes supporting transport, regeneration, climate change and place-making priorities.
• Act as the senior client representative for major programmes and projects and will build effective partnerships with Members, senior officers, Transport for London (TfL), government bodies, consultants, contractors and community stakeholders.
• Provide senior-level project leadership and resilience across the Capital Projects service, supporting programme governance, continuous improvement and the successful delivery of the wider capital portfolio.

About You:

Previous experience in Highway schemes is essential for this role. Carrington West are also looking for Highway / Traffic Engineers and Project Managers with similar backgrounds across the South of UK.
