Job summary

NET Recruit is partnering with a highly established defence business to recruit a Head of Mechanical and Electrical Planning. You will lead engineering programmes, coordinate resources, and drive delivery across complex M&E projects within a regulated environment.

The role demands extensive senior planning expertise, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. A clear track record in planning leadership and cross-disciplinary coordination is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in mechanical and electrical planning and project controls.
• Proven track record leading a planning team on complex programmes.
• Strong knowledge of the project lifecycle: design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and electrical planning across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain detailed programme schedules aligned with objectives and milestones.
• Provide leadership and guidance to planning professionals and project teams.
• Coordinate M&E workstreams with other disciplines, contractors and suppliers.
• Establish milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements; monitor progress.
• Develop mitigation and recovery plans for scheduling challenges.
• Produce programme updates, forecasts and management information.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior stakeholders to ensure delivery.
