Job summary

Tower Hamlets Council is seeking an experienced Programme Lead to drive a high-profile building safety initiative in London. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, shaping delivery and escalation for residents’ safety and compliance with relevant legislation.

The role reports to the Director and collaborates with MHCLG, GLA, Homes England, and other partners. A fixed-term contract of 24 months, with flexible/agile working to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building Safety Act 2022 and Housing Act 2004.
• Understanding of high-rise and higher-risk residential buildings.
• Excellent understanding of risk governance, compliance, and enforcement in high-risk residential buildings, with focus on external wall systems and systemic building defects.
• Proven ability to lead a sensitive and high-profile programme.
• Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team in a high-pressure environment.

• Leadership of the team’s programme of work and its resources.
• Stakeholder relationship management and escalation.
• Installation of robust data management and reporting.
• Submission of statutory and other returns to government bodies.
• Provide solution-focused strategic advice and oversight.
