Job summary

Greggs is seeking a Purchasing Manager in Newcastle upon Tyne to join the GNFR Procurement team. You will source, procure and manage suppliers for a portfolio worth about £50m, with emphasis on IT and Marketing categories.

The role offers exposure to strategic procurement, stakeholder engagement and negotiation within a complex retail environment, plus opportunities for GAP Negotiation training and CIPS qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experienced in managing large and complex spend, ideally IT/Marketing or indirect procurement.
• Proven ability in supplier management, contract negotiations and delivering cost-saving initiatives.
• Experience leading tender processes and driving value through supplier engagement and sourcing activities.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand requirements for purchases and tender them when appropriate.
• Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with suppliers, including MSAs for SaaS and services.
• Manage day-to-day supplier issues and align with senior purchasing for strategic approach.
• Lead end-to-end procurement: RFI, RFP, negotiation, contracting, ongoing supplier management.
• Drive cost savings across IT hardware, software, marketing, and corporate services.
