Job summary

Cross Rental Services in Andover seeks a Group Head of Information Technology to own the IT function and partner with the CFO in a high-growth HVAC hire business. You will shape the technology roadmap, governance, and security while aligning IT with commercial growth.

You will lead a hands-on, strategic IT team, evaluate tech stacks, manage budgets and vendor contracts, and drive resilience across the organisation. The role is based at our Andover headquarters.

Qualifications

• Experience leading IT in mid-sized or scale-up businesses.
• Proven ability to deliver a multi-year IT strategy and roadmap.
• Strong governance, security, risk management and operational resilience.
• Budgeting, vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
• Experience with cloud, ERP, cybersecurity, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the full IT strategy & multi-year roadmap.
• Bring commercial accountability to IT plan with cost optimisation and ROI.
• Design and enforce IT governance, policies, risk frameworks.
• Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation and SLA enforcement.
• Assess current systems and implement the optimum tech stack (cloud, ERP, security, automation).
• Deliver disaster recovery, business continuity and zero-downtime operations.
• Act as trusted advisor to the CFO – Board reporting.
