Job summary

Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist to shape and deliver engaging internal communications across our London and Liverpool offices. You will implement the strategy, coordinate activities, and collaborate with the Investment Management team to align communications with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing internal communications strategies.
• Proficient with digital platforms including SharePoint, Teams and Viva Engage.
• Experience creating content for newsletters, leadership messages and video.
• Strong written and verbal communication with project management skills.
• Experience measuring and reporting on internal comms activity.
• Experience planning and delivering internal events.
• Experience in large organisations or matrix environments.
• Ability to create visuals with Canva.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal communications strategy across channels and align with stakeholder needs.
• Collaborate with Investment Management (USSIM) in London for internal positioning and strategy.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders and provide practical messaging advice.
• Work with HR to communicate leadership and culture programmes.
• Educate colleagues on the internal communications strategy and long‑term objectives.
• Plan and coordinate internal events such as town halls and briefings.
• Create content for newsletters, intranet, leadership messages and event scripts.
• Support measurement against KPIs and regular reporting for the Group Executive Team.
• Gather colleague feedback to shape the programme.
• Stay updated on trends and bring fresh ideas.
