Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Director of Internal and Corporate Communications BioPharma to define and lead the internal comms strategy for the BioPharma Business Unit and to support EVP, BBU and LT members. The role requires deep communications expertise and the ability to influence senior leaders.

The role includes managing multi-channel campaigns, stakeholder partnerships and high-profile events, with a focus on engaging employees and reinforcing BioPharma strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced global internal communications in pharma and product comms.
• Proven track record delivering engaging internal communications with tangible outcomes.
• Extensive experience in employee and leader communications and engagement campaigns.
• Strong event management and production skills, incl. virtual and live events.
• Experience as senior counsellor and business partner to senior leaders.
• Experience managing diverse stakeholders and building trusted relationships.
• Excellent writing; strong digital/multi-media comms across science areas.
• Translating strategy into communications, incl. PowerPoint and visuals.
• Experience in corporate comms for biopharma with global therapy expertise.
• Experience developing employee/digital/leadership comms and events.
• Knowledge of pharma compliance frameworks (UK Code).

Responsibilities

• Leads internal communications and channel management to bring the BioPharma narrative to life.
• Defines and leads delivery of the BBU internal communications strategy and performance communications.
• Leads key BBU meetings and flagship BioPharma events.
• Partners with business leaders to deliver internal and external comms initiatives.
• Develops and coordinates internal communications materials across media.
• Maintains relationships with agencies and contractors to support resources.
• Establishes measures to improve communications effectiveness including KPIs and ROI.
• Contributes to broader BioPharma priorities beyond immediate role responsibilities.
