Job summary

AWE in Reading is seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Lead to shape and deliver IR strategy, advise on collective bargaining and industrial relations matters across the organisation, and act as the subject matter expert on employment and trade union law.

You will build constructive relationships with Trade Unions and senior leaders, lead on negotiations, disputes, and policy interpretation, and champion modernised agreements that support business aims while maintaining regulatory

Qualifications

• Significant industrial relations and employee relations experience in a large multisite, complex unionised organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
• Understanding of employment laws and HR regulations and best practices.
• Experience advising on industrial relations implications of major organisational changes (e.g., TUPE, redesign, redundancies).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills at all levels of the organisation.
• Proven track record of operating in a large, complex unionised environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of the overall industrial relations and employee relations strategy.
• Contribute to the implementation of IR/ER policies and procedures.
• Advise on IR implications of business initiatives; interpret policies and legislation.
• Develop relationships with senior leaders and trade union representatives to achieve business aims.
• Modernise existing agreements to meet business needs and compliance.
