Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a commercially driven Procurement Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing and category management across manpower, engineering and logistics services. You will combine supplier management with effective leadership in a fast-paced aerospace engineering environment.

The role requires delivering value through procurement initiatives, governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement across Leonardo UK. Hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Procurement Category Manager or Senior Buyer role within complex operational environments.
• Significant experience managing categories such as manpower, freight/logistics, and professional services.
• Demonstrated supplier negotiation and contract management experience with high-value or strategic suppliers.
• Previous people management or team leadership experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills enabling influence at all levels.
• Experience in aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for complex indirect and operational spend areas such as manpower, freight/logistics, and professional services.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFQs/RFPs, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and commercial management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure service excellence, cost competitiveness, and governance.
• Identify and deliver cost savings and value-creation opportunities while maintaining continuity and quality.
