Job summary

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support the People Strategy and partner with managers across the Service from Exeter. The role leads on policy, casework, change, and development of workforce planning and job evaluation.

You will drive inclusive, high-performance HR practices and act as a trusted advisor. Eligibility includes CIPD Level 7 or equivalent, with a proven ability to handle complex ER cases and workforce planning, while

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of day-to-day HR activities and up-to-date employment law.
• Experience as an HR Business Partner in a complex HR environment, including ER.
• Innovative HR support and advice in a fast-paced setting.
• Workforce planning with talent management, succession planning and selection/assessment.
• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent theoretical underpinning in HR Management.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive HR advice to support the People Strategy and Service objectives.
• Build partnerships with managers and senior leaders to ensure fair, best-practice processes.
• Lead organisational change projects, restructures and contractual changes.
• Review and develop HR policies and procedures for compliance and needs.
• Analyse HR data to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
