Job summary

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service seeks a Strategic HR partner to provide proactive HR advice aligned with the People Strategy and workforce plans. You will build strong partnerships with managers and senior leaders, promoting fairness and best practice in all people processes.

You will lead policy development, support organisational change, and analyse HR data to guide decisions while sustaining engagement with Trade Unions and Staff Networks.

Qualifications

• Provide proactive, high-quality HR advice and guidance across people processes.
• Lead the review and development of HR policies and procedures to meet legislation and organisational needs.
• Analyse HR data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain positive relationships with Trade Unions and Staff Networks.
• Support organisational change projects, restructures, redundancies and contractual changes.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and guidance to support the People Strategy and workforce plans.
• Build effective partnerships with managers and senior leaders.
• Promote consistency, fairness and best practice across people processes.
• Lead reviews of HR policies ensuring compliance and fit with Service objectives.
• Support organisational change projects and workforce redesigns.
• Coach managers to build capability in managing people issues.
• Analyse data to inform decision making and service improvements.
