Matchtech is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Manager to lead the health and safety function across rail projects, site locations and offices. The role provides strategic leadership, technical advice and practical support to embed a culture centred on safe working, sustainability and wellbeing.

You will roll out safety initiatives, lead day-to-day safety leadership for project teams and ensure policies reflect current legislation. Strong communication and investigation skills are essential.

Formación

• Significant experience as a Health and Safety Manager within a Tier 1 organisation.
• Experience in the rail, power, utilities or tunnelling sectors.
• Working understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Understanding of ISO 45001 and construction industry practices.
• Experience of accident and incident investigations.
• Graduate IOSH membership and professional registration.

Responsabilidades

• Lead rollout and implementation of health and safety elements within the Safe, Sustainable and Wellbeing strategy across projects.
• Provide day-to-day health and safety leadership, advice and support to project teams, offices, employees and contractors.
• Ensure health and safety policies, procedures and management system reflect current legislation and are effectively implemented.
• Review, update and produce health and safety documentation for the business management system.
• Carry out site safety inspections, audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate reporting, investigation and communication of accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Contribute to continuous improvement with lessons learnt and audits.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, training and coaching for employees and stakeholders.
• Provide technical assistance to Project Managers and the Head of Operational Health and Safety.
• Attend meetings with clear updates on health, safety and environmental matters.
• Line manage and support other Health and Safety Advisors.
