Job summary

University of Kent is seeking an Interim Head of Security to provide strategic and operational leadership on all security matters. You will manage security staff, coordinate with stakeholders and ensure a safe campus for students, staff and visitors in line with regulatory standards.

The role emphasises risk management, security policy development and effective incident response, with a focus on delivering a customer-friendly security service within a leading university environment.

Qualifications

• High level education evidenced by a first degree, professional accreditation or senior service rank
• Substantial experience managing risk and operational security services
• Knowledge of working to SIA Regulations and BS7858 standards

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership on all security matters
• Liaise with stakeholders to maintain a safe campus for staff, students and visitors
• Advise on security, parking enforcement and transport issues
• Develop and implement University Security Strategy and related policies and guidelines
