Job summary

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) seeks a strategic Head of Procurement to lead and transform our procurement function. You will shape procurement strategy, policies and frameworks to ensure compliant, value‑driven delivery across RBH.

Reporting to Finance and Procurement, you will influence decision‑making and establish RBH as a strategic enabler. You will champion collaboration, accountability and high performance.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading procurement in large organisations.
• Strong commercial and contract management capabilities.
• Experience driving value for money and efficiencies in procurement.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a high-performing procurement function that delivers a compliant, customer-focused service across RBH.
• Setting and delivering the strategic direction for procurement aligned with organisational priorities.
• Developing procurement strategies, policies and guidance that support best practice and compliance.
• Advising senior leaders on complex commercial and procurement issues.
• Leading major procurement projects and tender exercises across a diverse portfolio.
• Motivating and developing the Procurement Team to foster continuous improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and governance requirements.
• Driving value for money through strategic sourcing and supplier management.
• Embedding contract management and supplier performance frameworks.
